After an extensive national search, Brigham and Women’s and Faulkner Hospitals announced that Julie Celano has accepted the position of vice president of Human Resources. Celano, who currently serves as vice president of HR at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, will begin at BW/F on May 1.
“As Julie prepares to join the BW/F leadership team and our community, she has expressed her excitement about getting to know as many of our employees as possible and about honoring the collective wisdom of the people who make up this great institution,” said Mairead Hickey, PhD, RN, FAAN, chief operating officer and executive vice president. “Julie has been described as an impassioned leader who believes in listening, asking questions and developing solutions to challenging problems.”
Celano will build upon the important work begun by Arthur Mombourquette, interim vice president of Human Resources, and Human Resources colleagues to ensure that the BW/F HR team is engaged in understanding and meeting the individual and collective needs of the workforce. She will also further the work of the hospital’s senior leadership teams to build an engaged workforce reflective of the patients, families and communities we serve.
